Do you remember the last time you had a couple of hours to yourself (or even just half an hour of uninterrupted silence)? Nah, me neither. If that includes a bubble bath with kids fingers popping out from underneath the door or hollering out your name or nap-times catching up on some work, it doesn’t count.
It’s so important to get that quality Mom-ME time as I like to call it — it’s healthy, it’s a reprieve that you need for your overall sanity and it’s a breath of fresh air! Every mother needs it. It’s a restorative cure to mommy burnout!
I say thank goodness for Oranges and Tiffany Blues. I’m talking about Netflix and binge-watching my favourite shows like Orange is the New Black (new Season 2 out now!) and chick flicks like Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
What are your favourite movies and TV shows? Coupled with some snacks and refreshing beverages (usually wine…) and you’ve got the perfect concoction for some quality Mom-ME Time.
A great way to re-charge mom is with a great recipe for some refreshing Detox Water! I fill up a large water canister with cut up lemons, cucumber, mint and Oranges (and ice to cool) and let sit for a few hours. I love serving this when guests are over too during this hot season. It’s a crowd-pleaser that’s doing good for the body and the smell is simply intoxicating. Plus it looks pretty too!

I am currently obsessed with Orange is the New Black, Breaking Bad and Downtown Abbey (cannot wait for new seasons on Netflix Canada!). All totally different in their own unique way but still equally amazing!
